Specialist play group at Stephen Hawking School for babies and pre-school aged children

The next "Stay and Play" sessions start on the 27^th of February 2025. Please see the attached poster.

Together with Barts Health NHS Trust and the local Authority Early Help Team, we provide a highly specialist stay and play session for babies and young children with complex needs.

Specialist “Stay and Play” provision at Stephen Hawking School aims to:

• To create a sustainable, safe and inclusive provision for parents of children with complex needs
• To allow for very early interventions to be initiated
• To create opportunity for sign posting families to professional services within Tower Hamlets
• To create a supportive network for parents

The added value of these sessions being based at Stephen Hawking School includes:

• Facilitating a positive model for support for families of babies and young children with complex needs, moving away from a medical, deficit model
• Introducing families to a school and other agencies in a non-threatening, non-judgemental way
